The 32nd annual Hurst/Olds Club National meet will be located in Kingsport Tennessee and promises to be very special and definitely one gathering you will want to attend. The H/OCA will join the Oldsmobile Club of America (OCA) for a unique join national meet in 2016, a co-convention for both clubs to enjoy together. Imagine this, all of our H/O's lined up next to hundreds of classic Oldsmobiles, all collectively at one gala extravaganza!
If you don't know the area, Kingsport is a stones throw away from Bristol, TN. Yes, that Bristol, home of the Bristol Motor Speedway. We are now finalizing our schedule but our tentative plans are to drive laps on the speedway, compete in drag racing, take a track tour and enjoy a nice dinner. Drag racing should be available both on Wednesday and Friday. If you like car shows this year we have a judged car show for you as well. You must join the OCA to have your car judged, this is the only activity that requires membership in the Oldsmobile Club of America. There will be more exciting details to come here and in future issues of Thunder and Lightning!
If you plan on coming, please make sure you allow enough time to take it all in. The OCA National meets tend to be a bit longer than our normal H/OCA nationals. For example, we are tentatively planning drag racing on Wednesday as well as Friday. Also, come early to take time tio discover the Kingsport area, it has so many things to see and do. Kingsport is located in the heart of the Tri-Cities Region and has breathtaking natural beauty ans is known for it's mountians, music and rich heritage.
